New Beastie Boys video

The last time I talked about a Beastie Boys video it was because of the high budget and massive stars in it. THIS time its because of the sheer brilliance of Spike Jonze, hands down one of my favorite directors ever. So sit back and enjoy “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” http://youtu.be/vhH9Y6q3Hhk...

Every couple of years an event happens that means more to me than any summer blockbuster movie premiere or any hyped book… They Might Be Giants releases a new album(vinyl, 8 track,album,cd,mp3 flak or whatever futuristic form of music playing thing you have.) Listening to a new TMBG cd for the first time is kind of a frustrating thing for me though, I am so excited to be hearing the amazing new songs that I want to constantly skip ahead to the next track so I can hear that one now then......

I’m not talking about Jay Leno’s garage, I’m talking about cars that became a part of our culture because they were the true stars on TV shows and in movies! You can’t think of Back to the Future without thinking of the delorean and you certainly can’t think of Dukes of Hazzard without thinking of that loveably racist General Lee. So here’s the top 10ish coolest cars in Hollywood! 10. The General Lee– Yeeeeeee Haw! Name one other car that jumped as many collapsed bridges? It didn’t have special powers(other than being......

“…I thought ‘now here’s a kid who is gonna go places,’ and somehow… you just didn’t.” And thus begins the classic hero’s journey for callow insurance salesman Tim Lippe (Ed Helms of “The Hangover” and TV’s “The Office), the protagonist of “Cedar Rapids,” the criminally under seen film from director Miguel Arteta (“The Good Girl” and “Youth in Revolt”). After the star salesman in Lippe’s office freakishly dies, Lippe is called to action as a last minute replacement to represent his company at a sales conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Having never......

The documentary “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop” by Rodman Flender is out and I went to see it not only because for a “blink and you’ll miss me” shot of me in it but also because this movie is special to me. I have always been a Conan O’Brien fan, his humor from The Simpsons straight through to The Tonight Show has ALWAYS been the funniest, most original comedy I have ever seen. For me The Tonight Show ended on January 22, 2010, I have never nor will I ever watch it again,......

When Weird Al asks for volunteers you can bet I will say yes…he did and I did and now I can tell my grandchildren about the time I was in the weirdest Weird Al music video ever. 20 people including myself were picked to be paparazzi for a scene in Al’s Perform This Way video, I showed up on set and sat down in our holding area with 18 other uber-fans and Al came by to thank us for coming and to please call him Al. In a few hours we were......

I love it, as we get closer to the November 23rd release date there will be even more and more footage released!!! Enjoy the new trailer, I think its world’s better than the first one they released. My dream is to interview the Muppets on the red carpet for this movie…and if The Muppets have taught me anything it’s that dreams can come true! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=zj4zE7_6uVQ#at=15...

After the horrible Tim Burton re-make I wanted nothing to do with any more Planet of the Apes movies, the scene with the boombox alone ruined the franchise in my opinion. That’s why when I heard there was going to be a CGI monkey version of a prequel I was not interested at all. Well I can admit when I’m wrong and man was I wrong about this, it looks amazing!!! So the question is will it be good and will you see it?...

I will fight anyone that says there’s a better late night band then the Basic Cable Band from Conan. The Roots are good and come in a close second but seriously the hardest working band in late night without a doubt are these guys; Jimmy Vivino, Scott Healy, Mike Merritt, Mark Pender, Richie “LaBamba” Rosenberg, Jerry Vivino, and James Wormworth. I have been lucky enough to see them at tapings of Conan and was blown away by them then but seeing them at The world famous Troubadour, in such a small intimate......

Glee Finale SPOILERS

Was last night’s New York Nationals finale what I had expected? No, but that goes for pretty much every episode of Glee, I never know what to expect and thats one of the many reasons that Glee has quickly become one of my must-see favorite TV shows. I liked the episode but sadly wasn’t surprised by just about anything in it and it seemed to me that the majority of the songs were picked out first then the show was written around them. Recently I was talking with someone who didn’t like......

When the trailer for “Fight For Your Right Revisited” was released a couple of weeks ago I couldn’t believe how great it looked and more importantly how many stars were in it! From the very first appearance in the video of the 80’s “Beasties” coming out of the apartment made famous in their Fight For Your Right video, the Beastie Boys are portrayed by Seth Rogen, Elijiah Wood and Danny McBride to the “future/present” Beasties played by John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell and Jack Black. That right there would’ve been an amazing......

In 1982 I was 11 and my mom for whatever reason took me to see the scariest movie I have ever seen, I didn’t want nor ask to see it, it was a movie that terrified me to my very core. For years this movie was the movie I would compare all other horror movies to, it was Poltergeist. Yeah, yeah I know what you’re thinking but remember I was 11!!! Up until that point the scariest movies I had seen were on the Sunday creature double feature and probably starred Lon Chaney.......

Last night I was invited to go to the taping of a new pilot called “Tig Has Friends” I know some of you will ask “who’s Tig?” Well look how prepared I am! Tig Notaro is a stand up comedian best known for her role as a cop on The Sarah Silverman show. If you don’t know her by that then watch this: Trust me you will know her very soon if LOGO is smart enough to pick up this new show. Its a refreshing look at talk shows, reminiscent of the......
