Tribute to Carrie Fisher - STAR WARS CELEBRATION 2017

I am still not over this and don’t know when/if I ever will be. This one hurt, my first love, my first, heroine, my first princess. Carrie Fisher holds a huge place in my heart and I was so crushed when she passed that I couldn’t write about it…even now it’s hard for me to come up with any words befitting how amazing she was and always will be. Sure I should have taken a second to write on here everything she meant to me. I should have struggled through my tears......

SPOILER FREE Rogue One Review

There’s one thing that can be said for Hollywookiee.com I don’t like giving reviews that spoil the movie in any way shape or form, so fear not I will keep this spoiler free and simple. I loved Rogue One, it feels like the original trilogy, it has enough nods to the originals to keep you happy and even though we all know how the story ends it’s enjoyable and surprising to the very end.   Were there flaws? Sure but I can forgive the flaws because the over-all experience brought me back......

Hollywookiee remembers…

The memorial page has gotten too long for my liking. David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Lemmy, Michael Gross… the list keeps growing. Dear Cancer, fuck you. You have taken my friends, family and heroes too soon. David Bowie was always in my life, I can’t remember a time where he wasn’t reinventing himself and shocking the world with his amazing sound. He came into my life a mystery artist and his death was equally a mystery. Lazarus is an amazing goodbye and as a fan I thank you for that. Alan Rickman you are Hans......

Guys this list is for you.  It’s a short list so take a second to read it.   1. don’t be a dick- this seems obvious but lately I’ve seen all too many comments and posts that are just there to be a dick. 2. if a girl is on the internet, she doesn’t owe you ANYTHING! I don’t care if she has a fan page and you’re her biggest fan, she owes you nothing!!!! She never has to respond to you, she never has to even read your messages, she owes......

RIP Dean Jones

Beloved Disney actor Dean Jones passed away on September 1st, he was 83. Some of my most treasured childhood memories are Disney movies and Dean Jones was in some of the best of the best. The Shaggy DA, Herbie, The Million Dollar Duck, Blackbeard’s Ghost, the list goes on and on. These were the kind of movies where whole families could sit down and watch and enjoy them. The type of movies Hollywood doesn’t do enough of anymore. Dean Jones was the cool everyday guy that every kid wanted to meet, wanted......

Rest in Peace Harold Ramis

I knew something was up because my phone had been blowing up all morning. Sadly when I finally checked it my worst fears had happened, one of my idols has passed away. For those that know me and many of you readers that don’t, I’m sure you can tell I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan. This movie influenced my sense of humor, shaped what funny could be. The list of humor influences on me are small, Mel Brooks, Monty Python and Harold Ramis. Caddyshack, Stripes and Ghostbusters rank high on my favorite films......

From get Shorty, Out of Sight, Rum Punch(Jackie Brown) to Justified, Elmore Leonard had an amazing influence on Hollywood. His characters were complex, so real that it was easy for audiences to love them. Sadly Elmore Leonard passed away today at age 87. Twenty-six of his novels and short stories have been adapted for the screen and I’m sure that number will go up. Rest in peace sir, you will be missed....

M*A*S*H' star Allan Arbus dies RIP

M*A*S*H is still one of the best shows ever on TV, it had drama, comedy and brilliant actors in both major and supporting roles. Dr. Sidney Freedman, the psychiatrist that came by season after season to help the gang at the 4077th is a perfect example of a brilliant supporting actor. That is why I am sad to report that Allan Arbus, who portrayed Sidney, has passed away at age 95. I loved how mellow yet impactful Sidney’s speeches were and how he always seemed to have fun even when dealing with......

Roger Ebert passed away....thumbs down

Film critic Roger Ebert passed away today after a long public battle with cancer. Siskel and Ebert were two critics I always listened to, they weren’t swayed by Hollywood execs, if they didn’t like something they let us know. Today’s critics are too easily swayed by swag and a chance to have their review on a poster but not Ebert. He was impartial and imperfect but always honest, I didn’t agree with 100% of his reviews but damn if he wasn’t right more often than most. Rest in peace and two thumbs......

Jane Henson, wife of Jim Henson passes away

Jane Henson, who worked alongside Jim on just about everything Muppet including training the muppeteers we love to this day has passed away. She was 78 years old, she died in her Connecticut home following a battle with cancer. I was lucky enough to meet her at the one and only Muppetfest and she was delightful. She smiled when she spoke of her time with Jim and the rest of the Muppeteers and she kept Jim’s vision alive years after he tragically passed on. Rest in peace Jane....

RIP NEIL ARMSTRONG

Hollywookiee has quickly become a memorial website so people that I love and respect please stop dying!!!! I am sad to report that astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, has passed away at the age of 82. Yes we landed on the moon, get over it conspiracy theorists. It happened and this man was the first one to do it. Let’s hope that one day man will go back out there and explore space, brave men like Neil Armstrong showed us that anything is possible if man dreams it and......
