Let’s face it we have all been dumped or cheated on and Hollywood makes a shit ton of money on broken heart movies. This list is all about numbers 2 and 1 but I thought I should round it out with 3 more flicks that make you remember how shitty love can be sometimes.
5 Swingers- The crux of the movie is a break-up and bad relationship, sure it’s mostly about how money swing music was in the 90′s and how thin Vince Vaughn was but it’s also about a break up.
4. Chasing Amy- Kevin Smith did good back then, this movie has the best Jaws homage and some of the best characters he’s ever written but for the purposes of this list it has heart break.
3. High Fidelity- A list of loves lost and the reality of dealing with them made John Cusack the man one more time.
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- FUCK this movie messed me up and every time some girl walks out on me or worse it’s all I think about. If they ever figure out how to wipe my memory I will be first in line.
…and the number 1 movie that shows what it’s really like to be in a relationship and not some Bullshit Hollywood romance (although the ending was a little Hollywood) 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. Fuck me this movie rings true, guy falls head over heels in love, love spirals into the abyss and guy is a fucking wreck. The End.
