Yesterday The SUPERNATURAL panel was held at the Saban theatre in Beverly Hills. I’m going to assume that you are watching the best show on the CW as well as the best show on Friday nights, hint they are the same show and obviously I’m talking about the insanely well done SUPERNATURAL. If you aren’t watching this show then we can’t be friends. Its one of the best written, best acted(if thats a term) show since the X-Files, a show that consistently gets better episode after episode.
But like I said I assume you are all cool enough to be watching this show and telling your friends how important it is that they watch it too!
Just in case I’ll give you a little back story. Supernatural is both a drama and a comedy, a horror show and a beautifully driven emotionally filled show about two brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively, Sam and Dean are hunters, they hunt demons, vampires, and basically everything that goes bump int he night. On Supernatural just about everything is real, except aliens(although we are given an explanation about UFO’s). It has given us some of the most intense filled hours on television and also some of the oddest hours on tv, filled with vampires, werewolves, demons, shape shifters, angels, devils, and fairies. Yes fairies, the fairy episode is one of the most enjoyable/funnier episodes, you see Supernatural is not a show that takes itself too seriously or afraid to make fun of it self and when it does you will be crying with laughter by the end of it. Sera Gamble, Eric Kripke and Ben Edlund have created so many well told stories to fit in this little article so on to the Paleyfest!!!

Jared Padalecki(Sam), Jensen Ackles(Dean), Jim Beaver(Bobby), Misha Collins(Castiel), Sera Gamble(executive producer), Eric Kripke(creator, executive producer) and Ben Edlund(writer) all showed up for this panel and while walking the red carpet for it, Chanelle Vaughn and myself were lucky enough to ask them some questions:
first was Eric Kripke, who couldn’t be nicer and forthcoming with some background on Supernatural

next we interviewed the brilliant Jim Beaver who plays Bobby Singer on the show, during the panel we found out that Bobby almost never even became a character on the show, Eric had originally wanted to bring Missouri Moseley back to help the guys but due to a scheduling problem with actress Loretta Devine, they created a new father figure for Sam and Dean and Jim Beaver was instantly thought of.

next up for us was the lovely Genevieve Cortese, wife of Jared Padalecki and also known for her portrayal on the show as Ruby.
We asked her about her portrayal of herself on the alternate reality episode this season called “The French Mistake” Where Sam and Dean are transported to an alternate reality where they become a hilarious portrayal of Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. This is by far one of my favorite episodes and completely shatters the fourth wall with the show.

Time was running short for everyone on the red carpet, the fans who had been lining up since 6 am that morning had all went inside and were eagerly awaiting everyone from the show so we got a couple of quick interviews with the wonderfully talented and polite Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki (slightly NSFW languag in the first video kiddies!)

then when asked about what episodes stand out for Jensen

The panel proved that everyone on the show was a genuine fan of each other and are all eager to see what is in store for the characters IF they get another season, did you see that IF?!?! GET YOUR FRIENDS TO WATCH THIS SHOW!!! We all need more Supernatural!!!
The panel began with some extended scenes from The French Mistake episode that had the girls screaming for their favorites, the girls screaming were an even mix of Dean lovers and Sam Lovers but Bobby and Cas got their fair share as well. Next up was a sneak peek at the western episode Frontierland where Castiel sends the boys back to the old west to find the colt(Supernatural fans please feel free to explain the colt in the comments for everyone)
The crowd got to ask the panel some questions and the hour went way too fast for everyone, we were all having too great of a time listening to them tell stories and memories from the 6 wonderful seasons…hopefully there will be another 6 to come…

I would personally like to thank the wonderful people of the Paleyfest for such an amazing panel, the amazing people at the Lippin Group( Jennifer,Sunny and Ramona) for having a perfect set up and smooth running press line and a personal thank you to Ramona Durham, for ensuring that everyone in the press line was able to get at least one question or picture. You truly made this one of the best red carpets I’ve ever done.
